MADRID Dec. 7 (EUROPA PRESS) – The death toll from the recent floods in Indonesia, primarily affecting the northern part of Sumatra island, is approaching 950, according to authorities on Sunday. Over 275 people are missing, raising concerns that the number of fatalities may continue to rise. The National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) reported 940 confirmed deaths and over 5,000 injuries in their latest update on their website. They also noted 276 missing individuals due to the floods and landslides caused by heavy rains.
