The recent torrential rains and cyclones in Southeast Asia have caused catastrophic flooding in Indonesia, Thailand, and Sri Lanka. The floods have left over 900 people dead and forced thousands of families to evacuate their homes. Local authorities are facing difficulties in reaching the most affected areas due to destroyed roads, landslides, and communities cut off by rising waters. Indonesia has been the hardest hit so far, with over 400 confirmed deaths and hundreds missing, especially on the island of Sumatra, where entire villages were buried under mud following river overflows and landslides.
