Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Mochamad Irfan Yusuf, also known as Gus Irfan, has confirmed that the Hajj Stabbing Card for 2026 will be distributed at embarkation points. This is different from previous regulations where the cards were only distributed in the Holy Land. ‘Regarding the distribution of the Stabbing Card (for Hajj 2026), it has been planned to be distributed at the departure embarkation,’ explained Gus Irfan in response to questions from the parliamentary faction during a meeting with Commission VIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives in the parliamentary complex, Senayan, Jakarta, which was also broadcast on Parliament TV, on Wednesday (5/11/2025).
The Stabbing Card is an official identification card that every pilgrim must have while in Saudi Arabia. This card will serve as the pilgrims’ access pass while in the Holy Land, acting as a ‘ticket’ for services provided by the authorities, including entry requirements for Masjidil Haram and other holy sites during the peak of Hajj in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina. The Stabbing Card contains the pilgrims’ identities, such as visa numbers and complete QR codes. The pilgrims’ photos are also included in this card.
Gus Irfan mentioned that for the 2026 Hajj operation, there will be 14 main embarkation points that will be fully operational. These include embarkation points in Aceh, Medan, Padang, Pondok Gede, Bekasi, Solo, Surabaya, Balikpapan, Banjarmasin, Lombok, Makassar, Palembang, Batam, and Kertajati Indramayu. Additionally, there will be two new embarkation points set to operate: Banten and Yogyakarta. ‘The two new provinces, Banten and the Special Region of Yogyakarta, have been designated as new embarkation or debarkation points due to the readiness of dormitory facilities, support from local governments, and the potential for improved pilgrim movement efficiency from surrounding areas,’ he explained.
Each pilgrim will receive a Stabbing Card at their respective embarkation points. According to the hajj travel plan released by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, pilgrims will enter the hajj dormitories at embarkation points starting on April 21, 2026. Pilgrims will be gradually departed to the Holy Land starting on April 22, 2026. The pilgrims’ departure will occur in two waves, with the first wave flying from Indonesia to Medina and the second wave from Indonesia to Jeddah. The arrival of pilgrims at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah is scheduled for May 21, 2026.
