Two BOPE sergeants were reported dead during the police operation in Alemão and Penha. According to police information, at least three BOPE officers were shot and rescued, while two were shot and killed during the confrontation. Documents obtained by O GLOBO show that, in February 2024, both agents were listed as sergeants enrolled in the Special Distance Sergeants Training Course (CEFS/EAD/2023), released by the Directorate-General of Education and Instruction (DGEI).
