Drivers save in the wrong place: driving on fumes leads to expensive repairs

Many drivers are convinced that the ‘empty tank’ warning light is just a precautionary signal and nothing to worry about if they drive with a nearly empty tank. In reality, the habit of driving on fuel ‘until the last drop’ leads to costly breakdowns. The fuel pump can overheat and wear out quickly when there is very little fuel in the tank, as it relies on the liquid fuel to keep it cool and lubricated.
