SURABAYA – A Dutch drug convict was transferred from a provincial Indonesian jail to Jakarta on Dec 7, one day before his deportation to the Netherlands. Ali Tokman, 65, and Siegfried Mets, 74, faced Indonesian drug laws, leading to years of imprisonment. They will return on Dec 8 after a humanitarian agreement between Indonesia and the Dutch government. Tokman was moved from Surabaya to Jakarta, where he will be taken to the notorious Cipinang Penitentiary. Mets is already incarcerated at Cipinang, known for poor conditions.
