The government’s e-Jagriti digital consumer grievance platform has successfully processed approximately 1,30,000 cases since its launch in January, with more than 2,00,000 users, including non-resident Indians (NRIs), registering on the unified portal, as announced by the Consumer Affairs Ministry. By utilizing OTP-based registration, online payments, digital document exchange, and virtual hearings, NRIs are able to file complaints globally without the need to travel to India. In the current year alone, NRIs have filed 466 cases, with the United States leading the count at 146 cases, followed by Britain with 52 and the United Arab Emirates with 47.
