Earthquake in Uttarakhand: Mild Tremors Felt in Chamoli District, People Fleeing in Fear

National Desk: A mild earthquake was felt this morning in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. The intensity of the earthquake registered at 3.7 on the Richter scale. Startled by the sudden earthquake, people rushed out of their homes, although no major damage has been reported. The National Center for Seismology (NCS) reported that the earthquake’s intensity registered at 3.7 on the Richter scale, classified as a light earthquake. The incident occurred at 10:27 am. Local residents reported feeling only slight tremors from the earthquake, but people scared by fear immediately rushed out of their homes and buildings to open spaces. The district administration issued a warning immediately after the incident and instructed rescue teams to be prepared to deal with any situation. Reports indicate that no casualties or damage have occurred due to this light earthquake. Geologists are closely monitoring the seismic activity in the affected area.
