International Desk: A powerful earthquake was felt in the Hindu Kush mountain region of Afghanistan. According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake had a magnitude of 6.3 on the Richter scale. The epicenter of the earthquake was located approximately 28 kilometers southwest of Pul-e Khumri city in a depth of about 22 kilometers.
The earthquake struck late on Monday night local time at around 1:59 am, catching most people off guard while they were asleep in their homes. The sudden quake forced people to flee outside their homes, leading to panic in several areas. Although no major damages or casualties have been confirmed, local authorities have alerted relief and rescue teams.
