Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aty and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held discussions on Sunday regarding the situation in the Gaza Strip and draft resolutions being considered by the UN Security Council. The focus of the call was to address the upcoming vote on a US resolution on Gaza, which has been countered by a proposal from Russia. The ministers also touched upon topics such as bilateral relations, the crises in Gaza and Sudan, as well as the Iranian nuclear issue. Abdel-Aty emphasized the importance of following through on the plan outlined at the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit, which aims to pave the way for Palestinian self-determination and the establishment of a Palestinian state.
