Egypt Calls on Israel to Withdraw from 5 Outposts in Southern Lebanon

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly urged Israel on Sunday to vacate the five border posts it occupies in southern Lebanon. Madbouly, in a joint press conference with Lebanese counterpart Nawaf Salam in Cairo, voiced support for Lebanon’s sovereignty and strongly condemned Israeli attacks and violations in the region. Israel has held control over the five hills since the recent conflict between October 2023 and November 2024. Madbouly highlighted that Egypt and Lebanon have signed various memoranda of understanding in different sectors, focusing on prompt implementation to enhance economic cooperation.
