Egypt FA Confirms Talks for Early Release of Mohamed Salah Before AFCON

Liverpool may lose Mohamed Salah sooner than expected for the Africa Cup of Nations, with Egypt’s Ibrahim Hassan confirming talks with the club. Salah will join Egypt for the AFCON, set to miss at least three Liverpool games. Talks are underway for the early release of Salah and Marmoush for a friendly match with Nigeria on December 14. Salah and Marmoush were expected to depart after Liverpool’s games against Brighton and Crystal Palace. Missing the friendly could lead to even more missed games. Liverpool faces uncertainty over Salah’s return from the AFCON, which could see him miss up to four more games in addition to the three already confirmed.
