Egypt Inaugurates Grand Museum by the Pyramids, Showcasing Ancient Civilization

After years of anticipation, the Grand Egyptian Museum by the Pyramids opened on Saturday evening, marking the world’s largest archaeological complex dedicated to a single civilization. The official ceremony was attended by President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and delegations from 79 countries, including royalty and heads of state. Performances with the pyramids in the backdrop added to the grandeur of the event. Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly hailed the museum as a historic gift from Egypt to the world. The construction project, spanning seven years, had its roots three decades ago with groundwork, competitions, and architectural planning. Mohamed Mansour, a board member, forecasted over five million visitors annually. The project, financed through loans and partnerships, celebrates Egypt’s rich history with over 57,000 artifacts on display.
