Egypt Reaffirms Support for Eritrea Amid Tension with Ethiopia

Eritrean President Afwerki commended Egypt’s role in promoting stability in the Horn of Africa. Ethiopia’s recent call for international mediation with Eritrea over sea access has added to the complex regional dynamics. The meeting also addressed Sudan’s conflict, with both leaders advocating for supporting national state institutions and rejecting parallel entities. Egypt reiterated its commitment to Sudan’s unity and sovereignty through the Quartet Mechanism.
