Egypt to Compete in Arab Cup with Mohamed Salah Leading the Team

Mohamed Salah hasn’t started the 2025-26 season as effectively as last season when he helped Liverpool win the Premier League. The star player signed a new contract with Liverpool and acknowledged his commitment to playing for Egypt, which may lead to him missing some matches mid-season. Egypt, led by head coach Hossam Hassan, is set to participate in the Arab Cup in Qatar in December before the Africa Cup of Nations kicks off. Salah is expected to captain the team in the CAF tournament in Morocco. However, he will continue to play for Liverpool until the Africa Cup of Nations as Egypt will field a ‘B’ squad in the Arab Cup.
