Egypt Unveils Grand Museum Featuring Tutankhamun Tomb After a Two-Decade Wait

Prime ministers, presidents, and royalty gathered in Cairo for the inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum, a project that took two decades to complete. The construction faced challenges such as the Arab Spring uprisings, the pandemic, and wars in neighboring countries, but finally came to fruition. Addressing the press, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly described the museum as a ‘gift from Egypt to the whole world,’ highlighting the country’s rich history spanning over 7,000 years. The lavish inauguration event included spectacles like dancers in pharaonic-style garb, illuminated images of cultural sites, and a performance by an international orchestra.
