Egyptian soccer enthusiast Hany Elheniedy is thrilled for June 21, 2026, when Vancouver’s B.C. Place will welcome Egypt and New Zealand as part of the 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup. The match between the Pharaohs and the All-White team is part of seven games, including two knock-out matches, that Vancouver will host after the full schedule release. Elheniedy, president of the Egyptian Canadian Cultural Society of B.C., expects Liverpool star Mo Salah’s team to create a huge buzz in Greater Vancouver and the 5,000-strong Egyptian community.
