Egypt’s New High-Speed Trains: A Game Changer in Transportation

Travelers and critical cargo in Egypt are in for a treat as Siemens Mobility recently unveiled high-speed trains that can reach speeds of 155 miles per hour. The company introduced its new Velaro train model at the TransMEA 2025 show in New Cairo on November 9. This new fleet of trains, with a capacity of 489 passengers, is set to revolutionize transportation in Egypt. The trains will be part of a 2,000-kilometer high-speed network connecting major cities in the country, making travel faster and more convenient for nearly 90% of the population. The project, developed in collaboration with Arab Contractors and Orascom Construction, aims to reduce travel times by up to 50%.
