The Leninsky District Court of Ekaterinburg in absentia arrested the well-known businessman Alexander Gorbunov, owner of wholesale bases and plants, on charges of extortion (part “b” of article 163 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). “Since the accused is on the run, the court granted the petition for the absentee arrest of the defendant,” said the press office of the Sverdlovsk Regional Court. As previously reported by E1.RU, the search for Gorbunov is related to old cases of torture in IK-2 and extortion. Those who ended up in detention had their businesses, cars, apartments, and other assets taken away. Victims sought the initiation of a criminal case for more than 10 years. The identity of the mastermind was kept secret for a long time.
