End of an Era: Avtotor Halts Production of Kaiyi Cars in Kaliningrad

According to sources, Kaiyi is actively selling off remaining car stocks. The official online portal of the brand only showcases five available models for purchase, while on the Auto.ru platform, over fifty new Kaiyi cars are listed for sale. The Russian Kaiyi lineup includes the E5 sedan and three crossovers named X3, X3 Pro, and X7 Kunlun.

It is reported that Avtotor’s freed-up production capacities will be redirected towards manufacturing electric vehicles under the Amberauto brand. The significant rise in popularity of the A5 sedan has motivated this decision, as it held the top position in the Russian electric car segment for two consecutive months in September and October. The replacement process is expected to commence in February.

Official comments regarding the potential discontinuation of Kaiyi’s operations in the Russian market have not been issued as of yet.
