ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia — The human ancestor fossil known as Lucy has departed Ethiopia to be showcased in a European museum, as reported by Ethiopian national media on Friday. Tourism Minister Selamawit Kassa confirmed the news, highlighting the significance of Lucy’s journey to a European audience. Lucy, a framed hominid fossil, was previously on display at the Ethiopian Natural History Museum in Addis Ababa. The move marks a historic moment for Ethiopia’s cultural heritage, bringing Lucy to a new international setting for the very first time.
