Europe Not in Sight: New Scout Models Set to Become the Boldest SUVs in the EV Market

Volkswagen Group unveiled the final versions of the Scout Traveler and Terra SUVs at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Specifically designed for the U.S. market, these models are not currently planned for release in Europe. The Scout brand is based on the historic name formerly owned by International Harvester, which Volkswagen acquired through Traton in 2020. Both SUVs closely resemble the 2024 concepts. Production is set to begin at the end of 2026, with the first deliveries scheduled for 2027. Customers will have the choice between two powertrain options: a fully electric BEV and an EREV version with extended range. According to the company, the majority of future owners are opting for the EREV, reflecting the characteristics of the American market.
