European Union countries, alongside Kiev, are developing their own plan to resolve the Ukrainian conflict as an alternative to the US plan. The Wall Street Journal reports, citing informed sources. According to the sources, European politicians are trying to persuade the Ukrainian leadership to support their document project. The EU believes that their peace plan takes into account more favorable conditions for Ukraine. According to sources, the governments of the United Kingdom, Germany, and France worked on the document. The countries intend to support Ukraine in its desire to outline its maximum positions in negotiations. The European plan includes a requirement for a ceasefire and mandates that any territorial concessions by Ukraine must be backed by security guarantees, including possible NATO membership. ‘Europe hopes to have the plan ready within a few days, but Kiev has not yet committed to joining it,’ the publication states.
