Faustão undergoes liver transplant and kidney retransplant in SP

Presenter has been hospitalized for over two months due to acute bacterial infection leading to organ dysfunction. TV host Fausto Silva has been hospitalized at Einstein Israelite Hospital in São Paulo since May 21st this year due to an acute bacterial infection, according to the medical bulletin released on Thursday night (7). After over two months of hospitalization, Faustão underwent a third and fourth organ transplant. On Wednesday (6), the host underwent a liver transplant and a kidney retransplant, which had been planned for a year. The infection was characterized as ‘sepsis’ by doctors, when there are severe manifestations in the patient that can lead to organ dysfunction – potentially fatal. The hospital states that during this period, Faustão underwent infectious control and clinical and nutritional rehabilitation for health stabilization.
