Federal Police conducts operation against corruption in the mining sector

The Federal Police and the CGU (Comptroller General of the Union) are conducting an operation this Wednesday (17) against a criminal organization responsible for environmental crimes, corruption, and money laundering in Minas Gerais. The group is said to have made a profit of R$ 1.5 billion and has ongoing projects with an economic potential exceeding R$ 18 billion. The Operation ‘Rejeito’ has the support of the Federal Public Ministry and the Federal Revenue Service. 79 search and seizure warrants, 22 arrest warrants, and the removal of public servants are being executed, along with the freezing of R$ 1.5 million and the suspension of activities of legal entities involved in the crimes.
