According to Hakan Fidan, the Turkish Foreign Minister, during a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, US President Donald Trump instructed his administration to lift the sanctions under the CAATSA law against Turkey. Fidan stated, ‘During the meeting on September 25 with our president at the White House, Mr. Trump (…) immediately said that CAATSA is something that should not exist between us. We need to lift that. He gave this instruction to his own bureaucracy,’ Fidan said in an interview with A Haber channel.
