Divya Deshmukh made headlines at the FIDE Grand Swiss event held in Uzbekistan by defeating Egypt’s top-ranked GM Amin Bassem. This victory marked her first win in the tournament, while fellow Indian chess players Gukesh D and Praggnanandhaa R both settled for draws in their games. Raunak Sadhwani also had a successful match, adding to the Indian presence in the competition. In the women’s category, Vaishali also put up a strong performance.
