With Flamengo and Palmeiras reaching the Libertadores final, Samir Xaud, president of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), mentioned the possibility of lobbying with Conmebol to move the final from Lima, Peru, to Brazil. However, the chance of change is not in the plans of the continental entity. Xaud indicated he could talk to Conmebol if it was in the clubs’ interest. According to UOL, both Flamengo and Palmeiras, however, have not made any moves in this direction. ‘If it is in the interest of the clubs, CBF will support and we will try to do it in the best possible way. With this Brazilian final now, we can see the possibility of bringing it to Brazil if the clubs have that intention, CBF can assist with this liaison with Conmebol,’ said Xaud after Alviverde’s triumph over LDU last night.
