Flamengo needs to tone it down a bit

Palmeiras president Leila Pereira raised her voice again regarding Flamengo’s decision to block the payment of R$ 77 million to the clubs of the Brazilian Football League. The leader used the term ‘terraFlanistas’ in an interview with ‘ge tv’ to address the situation. The word is a variation of ‘flat earthers’, indicating those who believe the Earth is flat. ‘If a club thinks it’s bigger than Brazilian football, then they should play alone, against themselves. We have flat earthers who believe the Earth is flat, now we have ‘terraFlanistas’. They believe the solar system revolves around Flamengo. That’s not the case. No one is greater than anyone else. Flamengo needs to come down to earth and realize they cannot dictate what is best for Brazilian football based on what is best for them. That’s not how it works. Flamengo needs to tone it down a bit,’ said Leila Pereira.
