The celebration of Flamengo’s fourth Libertadores title ended in turmoil in Rio de Janeiro. After the end of the parade with players and coaching staff on a float in Presidente Antônio Carlos Avenue in the city center, the Flamengo fans clashed with the police, who used pepper spray and rubber bullets. As the parade concluded, the police formed a cordon to allow the Flamengo players’ buses to pass through without any issues, but some fans found themselves trapped against the fence. Some fans decided to jump over the barrier separating the crowd from the athletes.
