Flavia Saraiva puts on a good performance on the beam, but finishes in 4th place

Flavia Saraiva put on a good performance but failed to reach the podium on the beam at the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Jakarta, Indonesia. The Brazilian opened the final and scored 13.900, finishing in fourth place. The gold medal went to Chinese gymnast Zhang Qingying, who had already led the qualifiers with 15.166. Algerian Kaylia Nemour obtained 14.300 and took silver, while Japanese Aiko Sugihara finished in third place with 14.166. Flavia Saraiva stated, “I’m very happy, it was a very difficult final. Happy because my last beam final was in 2019, since then, I hadn’t been able to. And it was the first time I hit a beam final at the World Championship. I’m happy that the work is paying off, we are improving and, each year, we are managing to evolve a little more. Competition is competition… I’m very happy with my performance, happy that I hit because it gives me more confidence for the coming years.” Flavia Saraiva, to SporTV.
