Flight Activities during the 2026 Christmas and New Year Holidays Predicted to Increase by 3.5 Percent

AirNav Indonesia predicts a 3.5 percent increase in air traffic movement during the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year holidays compared to the previous year. The peak of passenger departures during this period is expected to occur on December 19 or 20, 2025. Perum Lembaga Penyelenggara Pelayanan Navigasi Penerbangan Indonesia (LPPNPI) or AirNav Indonesia forecasts a projected total of 76,972 aircraft movements from December 18, 2025, to January 4, 2026. The peak of outbound passenger traffic during this period is expected to be on December 19 or 20, 2025, with the return peak predicted to fall on January 3 or 4, 2026. ‘During that time, daily flight intensity at all airports is estimated to reach 4,300 to nearly 5,000 aircraft movements,’ said AirNav Indonesia’s President Director, Capt. Avirianto Suratno during the press conference ‘AirNav Readiness for Christmas 2025 and 2026’ in Ciwidey, Bandung Regency, West Java, on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.
