Flipkart’s Distribution Centers Targeted in ₹161 Million Mobile Phone Fraud, Case Registered

Online platform Flipkart has uncovered a major fraud at its distribution centers in Ernakulam district, with ₹161 million worth of mobile phones missing. Police have launched an investigation into the matter. According to the Police Cyber Cell in Ernakulam, a case has been registered and an inquiry has begun. Flipkart’s Information Officer has also been complained against, leading to a separate case being filed on Friday. Flipkart identified fraud at its Kanjir, Kuruppampadi, Makkar, and Muvattupuzha centers, where officials Siddique Aliyar, Jasim Dilip, Harris PE, and Mahin Noushad are facing FIRs. The FIR reveals that employees ordered 332 mobile phones, including Apple iPhones, Samsung Galaxies, Vivo, and IQOO models between August 8 and October 10, 2025, using fake identities and mobile numbers. In Kanjir, 38 phones were ordered (₹18.14 lakh), Kuruppampadi saw 87 orders (₹40.97 lakh), Makkar had 101 orders (₹48.66 lakh), and Muvattupuzha had 106 orders (₹53.41 lakh), all disappearing after arriving at respective addresses. The Indian Penal Code and Information Technology Act are being invoked in the fraud and cybercrime case against them.
