Floods wreak havoc in Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, leaving nearly 1,000 dead

The recent torrential rain in Sri Lanka, Indonesia’s Sumatra, southern Thailand, and northern Malaysia has caused severe flooding and landslides, resulting in the tragic loss of at least 954 lives. In response to the crisis, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto emphasized the urgent need to provide essential aid to those affected. Efforts are underway to assist thousands impacted by the extreme weather conditions. Subianto stated that the government’s priority is to reach isolated villages with helicopters and aircraft to aid in the relief efforts.
