Changan is updating its lineup with two new models for the Russian market. SPEEDME.RU has previously reported that the Russian branch of the Changan brand is preparing to introduce the flagship Avatr 12 to the Russian market. However, it has recently been revealed that a new hybrid SUV, the Deepal G318, is also set to enter the Russian market soon, although exact release dates have not been announced yet.
The Avatr 12 has been unofficially imported to Russia for about a year and a half, since February 2024. It features a traction battery with a capacity of 94.5 kWh, providing a range of up to 700 km according to the NEDC cycle. While the full specifications and prices will be disclosed by Avatr in October, the brand has already opened a section on its official website for fans to learn more details and place pre-orders.
Unofficial deliveries of the Deepal G318 through alternative channels began only in July 2025. The G318 is built on the EV+ platform and is equipped with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine-generator paired with electric motors. The total power of the setup reaches 430 hp and 572 Nm, allowing the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds. The fuel consumption in a mixed cycle is claimed to be only 1.3 l/100 km, and the vehicle can travel up to 146 km on electric power alone.
