From December 1, Relief on Electricity Bills, Yogi Government Makes Big Announcement

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has announced the implementation of the ‘Electricity Bill Relief Scheme 2025-26’. Under this scheme, consumers who have never paid or have delayed payments will benefit from it. The government has decided to provide a waiver of 100% on surcharge amounts and up to 25% on the principal amount on electricity bills under the Electricity Bill Relief Scheme. The scheme aims to ensure that no consumer bears the burden of electricity bills, and that the state’s electricity distribution system remains financially strong.
