From North Minahasa to Japan, David Van Reybrouck Explores Tinder

David Van Reybrouck’s success with a book about the Republic of Congo gave him the drive to work on another book. For nearly 6 years, researching and writing the book Revolusi: Indonesia and the Birth of the Modern World, David Van Reybrouck traveled to various regions in the country. His research began at a nursing home on the outskirts of Jakarta, then continued to other parts of Java, Togean, and North Minahasa. Not stopping in Indonesia, he also checked and visited Japan, the Netherlands, and Nepal for the sake of a book.
