FSB Reveals Involvement of Ukrainian Intelligence Services in the Attempted Assassination of a Russian Orthodox Church Hierarch

The Russian Federal Security Service continues to investigate a criminal case involving the planning of the murder of Metropolitan Tikhon in Moscow, with alleged links to Ukrainian special services. On November 11, searches and interrogations were conducted in Moscow, Pskov Oblast, and the Republic of Crimea, targeting individuals close to the suspects, Denis Popovich and Nikita Ivankovich. Evidence linking the suspects to the crime preparation was obtained, along with information implicating other individuals. Additionally, banned terrorist organization propaganda was seized. The FSB alleges that Popovich and Ivankovich acted on behalf of Ukrainian intelligence, intending to monitor the hierarch and detonate an explosive device at the Sretensky Monastery.
