Gaza war mediators express concern over Israel’s plan to open one-way exit for Palestinians

Gaza war mediators Egypt and Qatar, alongside six other Muslim-majority countries, have voiced their concerns over Israel’s announcement to open a one-way crossing for Palestinians to leave the Gaza Strip. The foreign ministers of Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates jointly expressed their deep unease about Israel’s statements regarding the Rafah crossing. They emphasized their opposition to any efforts to expel Palestinians from their homeland and the coercion of Gaza residents to depart. The ministers called for the crossing to operate in both directions, aligning with US President Donald Trump’s peace initiative.
