Grêmio entitled to $6 million from Cuiabano’s transfer from Botafogo to Nottingham Forest

Grêmio is set to receive around $6 million from Cuiabano’s transfer from Botafogo to Nottingham Forest, as reported by the newspaper ‘Zero Hora’. When negotiating the player with Botafogo in April 2024, Grêmio secured a 20% profit share – meaning 20% of the profit from any future sale. Cuiabano was bought by Botafogo for $8 million, and the transfer to Forest was just over $30 million, resulting in approximately $6 million profit share for Grêmio. This means Grêmio will receive a total of around $14 million, plus the value related to FIFA solidarity mechanism as the training club. On the last night of the Brazilian transfer window, Botafogo arranged for Cuiabano to return from Nottingham Forest on loan until the end of the season.
