Around 17,000 ration shop dealers in Gujarat are on strike from November 1, 2025, demanding a separate cooperative movement from distribution processes. The main demands include an increase in commission per kilogram from ₹1.50 to ₹3 and a minimum monthly commission raise from ₹20,000 to ₹40,000 per family member with biometric login provision. This strike might create serious issues in the distribution of food grains to low-income families in the coming month of November due to the ongoing protest.
