A Hamas delegation arrived in Cairo on Sunday to engage with Gaza war mediators, according to an Egyptian security source and a Hamas representative. Both Israel and the Palestinian militant group have been accusing each other of breaching the ceasefire agreements. The Hamas official, speaking under anonymity, stated that the delegation would address Israel’s consistent violations of the ceasefire pact. Egypt, along with Qatar and the U.S., have been actively mediating discussions between Hamas and Israel to uphold the ceasefire that was implemented the previous month. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reported that five senior Hamas members were killed by the country’s military on Saturday following an attack by a Hamas fighter in Israeli-controlled Gaza territory targeting Israeli soldiers. Health officials in Gaza confirmed that at least 20 individuals lost their lives in Israeli airstrikes on Saturday. The military disclosed on Sunday that a local Hamas commander was among the casualties in the strikes.
