RAFAH, Egypt (AP) — On Monday, Hamas announced its acceptance of a new ceasefire proposal mediated by Arab countries for the Gaza Strip. However, the implementation is contingent on Israel’s approval. At the same time, Gaza’s Health Ministry confirmed that the death toll among Palestinians due to the 22 months of conflict has now surpassed 62,000. The cease-fire talks have been ongoing amidst the ongoing conflict in the region, with hopes of bringing relief to the affected populations.
