One holidaymaker has revealed why he will never return to Egypt after spending three weeks in the country. He claimed he experienced a range of ‘non-stop scams’ as well as ‘aggressive staring’ and ‘restaurants denying reservations’. The traveller expressed his frustration by sharing his thoughts on Reddit during his flight back. Describing his trip as draining, he said it felt like his soul was being vacuumed like a Dyson on turbo mode. Problems began upon landing, with unexpected visa fees and additional charges. The tourist vented about paying for ‘fast immigration’ and being hit with a sudden ‘registration fee’. Tourists staying over a certain period in Egypt require a visa. The UK Foreign Office advises purchasing visas at approved airport kiosks for 25 USD. The traveller also noted uncomfortable staring from locals, describing the experience as data being downloaded with eyes. Restaurant issues arose when he couldn’t eat despite a reservation, and taxi conflicts added to his frustrations. He concluded feeling completely exhausted and discouraged others from visiting Egypt after his tumultuous trip.
