Hollywood Mourns the Loss of Robert Redford, Oscar-Winning Actor and Director

Hollywood actor and director Robert Redford passed away on Tuesday (16), as confirmed by his publicist Cindi Berger. He was 89 years old. Known for leading roles in ‘Butch Cassidy’ (1969), ‘All the President’s Men’ (1976), and ‘Indecent Proposal’ (1993), Redford also directed award-winning films like ‘Ordinary People’ (1980), which earned him an Oscar, and ‘The River Runs Through It’ (1992). Redford’s passion for cinema led him to establish the Sundance Institute, a non-profit organization supporting independent film and theater, famous for its Sundance Film Festival. The Hollywood icon was also a dedicated environmentalist, relocating to the mountains of Utah in 1961 and spearheading efforts to preserve the natural landscape of the American West.
