The collapse of a set of eight residences left one person dead in the Ouro Preto neighborhood in Olinda, in the Region Metropolitana do Recife (RMR). The tragedy occurred shortly before 7:15 am on Sunday (19). So far, 12 people have been injured and five have been rescued, including two children. The Fire Department is still conducting a search for a buried victim identified as Luzinete dos Santos Lima, approximately 69 years old, known as ‘Lúcia’ and a wheelchair user. The fatality was identified as Cláudio dos Anjos da Silva, 40 years old. ‘When his sister called me to tell me what happened, I was at work. She said he was at the Restauração Hospital with 100% of his body burned and was intubated. We were sad. When I went there, she said it wasn’t him. We were hoping he had gone out to play soccer in the morning, as he always did. That was our feeling,’ said waitress Janaína Patrícia, 38, a friend of Cláudio.
