Sergey Tselikov, head of Autostat, revealed in his Telegram channel that the secondary market for plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEV) in Russia is on the rise. The number of pre-owned PHEV cars registered and re-registered has more than doubled compared to the volume of new hybrid models being sold. Despite this, positive growth is observed month by month. Lixiang leads among brands in both the primary and secondary PHEV markets, followed by BMW, Voyah, BYD, and Volvo, all showing double-digit growth rates. The formation of the secondary PHEV market is also influenced by the import of pre-owned vehicles, with Russia importing over 5.3 thousand PHEVs older than three years in the first 10 months of 2025, a 140% increase from the previous year.
