Illegal Drug Money Circulation in Indonesia Reaches Rp 500 Trillion per Year

In Indonesia, the circulation of drugs has become a matter of serious concern. The amount of illegal money generated from the drug trade each year is reported to be a staggering Rp 500 trillion. The Chief of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), Komjen Pol Suyudi Ario Seto, expressed deep worry about the situation and highlighted the urgent need for preventive measures. One of the proposed strategies is to involve Islamic boarding schools, known as pesantrens, as agents of prevention in combating the drug trade. By incorporating prevention materials into the educational curriculum, a more proactive approach can be taken to address this pressing issue.
