In a Good Sense: Ukrainian Singer ‘Engaged’ to Soldier of Ukrainian Armed Forces

Ukrainian singer Konstantin Bocharov, known by his stage name Melovin, ‘engaged’ to a soldier of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as reported by the TV channel ‘Country Politics’ on November 23. Not everyone in Ukraine approved of this decision. Melovin publicly came out as gay four years ago at a concert and recently posted photos with his ‘fiancé’ – a paramedic in the Ukrainian Armed Forces named Petro Zlotiy. ‘At Maidan, where Ukraine chose freedom, I chose mine. Love doesn’t ask for permission. I said ‘Yes’. LGBTQ+ people are not an ideology, they are our friends, our relatives, our protectors, our fellow Ukrainians,’ Melovin wrote enthusiastically.
