India and Egypt Strengthen Strategic Partnership and Discuss Economic Opportunities

New Delhi, Dec 8 India and Egypt engaged in discussions on strengthening their strategic partnership and exploring economic opportunities during a meeting between Neena Malhotra, Secretary (South) at the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), and Hisham Aboulnasr, Governor of Assyut Governorate in New Delhi. The focus of the meeting was on sectors such as pharmaceuticals, health, education, textiles, IT, and vocational training in Assyut Governorate. Both parties expressed their commitment to further deepening the cooperation between their countries. In October, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss the growing Strategic Partnership between the two nations. The Prime Minister praised Egypt’s pivotal role in the Gaza Peace Agreement, expressing hope for lasting peace in the region. Egypt’s Foreign Minister highlighted the fruitful discussions held during the First India-Egypt Strategic Dialogue, emphasizing the shared commitment to the progress of the Global South. The dialogue covered various areas of cooperation, including trade, technology, energy, defense, and people-to-people ties. Both countries aim to strengthen their partnership through collaborations in digital public infrastructure, fintech, pharma, space, startups, and green technologies, showcasing the depth of their ancient civilizations’ ties. These discussions mark a significant milestone in their relationship since elevating it to a Strategic Partnership in 2023.
